Chip's hidden gems!

Wow Chip where were these pictures in your first batch.
The two best of you shoot were buried in your shoot.
The slide at the plate is a great moment and you nailed it.
However, there is always a however,
of the two in your second batch one is loose and the other tight.
I'm not sure if you left one loose to set the scene
but because of where the ball is that image would benefit more from a tighter crop.

The tighter crop eliminates a lot of distracting background
and makes it a lot easier to see the ball just behind the catcher's mitt.
Adds to the drama.
Although I love the second picture and crop currently on it,
If you still want that loose scene setting picture the second of the series might be better.
Since the ball is clearly visible.

Ian does not have a problem with timing!

Wow Ian, you were rocking on the timing!

Bat on ball, complete with a little dust coming off the bat, NICE!

And then to have the ball meets butt, GREAT!
Good Job.

I also liked the batter waiting for the ball during batting practice.
I nice different picture that I will steal someday.

All the pitcher pictures are good too but the one next to the most handsome sports photographer ever needs to be a little tighter.
Come up on the bottom to his belt and a little down on top.

Great Stuff!
As for the dance, of course it is a sport, think about figure skating, same thing only on ice.
I liked the tight shot with a touch of movement, I also liked the vertical that was also given the B&W treatment.
The B&W treatment, is that a photoshop filter? or did you go into channel mixer?

Is dancing a Sport?

I love getting the timing right in Dance Photography-just like in sports. Thought a few shots of Elke wouldn't be complained about. Regards, Ian
